E Series: EH450 Hot Standby Base Station

Overview

The Trio EH450 is a Redundant 1+1 Hot Standby Full Duplex Digital Base/Repeater Station with automatic changeover. It is optimized for installation at critical sites in Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint (Multiple Address Radio) SCADA and telemetry systems.

A major feature of the EH450 is its modular design comprising two identical EB450 base station units linked to a central, monitoring and change-over Hot Standby Controller (HSC). Any of these units may be taken out for maintenance without the need for any system down time. The automatic change-over is triggered by out of tolerance (alarm) conditions in either user data throughput or radio hardware operating parameters.

Base stations and repeaters are key elements in data radio communication systems and are subject to heavy duty cycle operation. The EB450 has been specially designed to deliver highly reliable, continuous full duplex operation at maximum rated (5W) or (20W) output power. Trio can also supply the standard EB450 Base/Repeater station when redundancy is not required.

The EH450 is fully capable of reliable 100% duty cycle operation in ambient temperatures up to +60°C and may be user configured for operation in either E Series or M Series modes.
